NaNoWriMo / Screnzy

Hey guys, time for another update.
In a few days, National Novel Writing Month starts. (NaNoWriMo)
The goal is to write a 50 000+ word novel in ONE month, From November 1 12:01 AM to Midnight November 30. No prizes, just writing.

Also, in April, Script Frenzy launches, it is similar to NaNoWriMo, except instead of a 5K word novel, it's a 100+ page SCRIPT.



As a reminder, you have one week to buy tickets to Legend of Sleepy Hollow, as they close on the 31st. It is an awesome show, I am recommending it completely.

Contest coming up

Alright,We'll have our first contest. The winner gets not one but TWO tickets to Storybook Theater's "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" which opens on October 17 and runs until the 31st. I also have one ticket for preview night for second place.

All you have to do to win is;

Send a video, pictures or audio clip of your acting, tech or voice skills. The winner receives two tickets for any date (Determined by the winner) and the second place winner gets one ticket for preview night (Oct. 16)

The next thing you have to do is send it to: runegospel.podscape@hotmail.com along with your name and email address.

That's it, all you have to do now is wait. The winners will be picked ASAP, but hurry with those submissions, the contest will only run until Oct. 14, then submissions will stop being accepted.


IN ADDITION: It seems that some readers have the wrong idea. This contest is not being held by Storybook Theater, please do not contact them with any questions. As they will be unable to answer.

Sleep deprived ramble

I've gathered together a list of funny quotes and happenings during shows and rehearsals. I'm tired but can't sleep, so here's at least SOME of the list.

- The snake getting out during a show and me spending all sow looking for it
- D'Arcy Watsham saying the "M" word about 50 times backstage
- "Have you ever done cocaine?" - Peter Aitchison
- "More 'I love food' less 'orgasm' - Peter Aitchison
- "Bryce, you did a better job playing a woman than an actual woman" - Peter Aitchison
- Breaking out into random song and dance after a show (Everybody, to the same song and same dance steps.)
- Christian doing a 15 minute, uninterupted, improvised monologue which he wasn't supposed to do.

I had the fortune to get an interview with Christina, who plays the young girl, after the show. Here are the results.
Also, our hearts go out to JB (Jailbreaker) who escaped from his crate just before the show. A few parents helped us look for the snake, who was never found, may he rest in the great sunning spot in the sky (Or get found)

Me: How long have you worked with Storybook?

C: Two years

Me: Have you done anything besides acting?

C: No, I’ve only done acting.

Me: How do you feel about the other cast and crew?

C: I love the cast and crew, they’re so much fun. It’s fun because with a small cast and crew I get to know everyone really well.

Me: I saw you get hit in the face with scissors, it must be difficult to stay in character through things like that. How did you do it?

C: I was just kind of stunned, I didn’t realize he hit me in the face at first, but as I saw the mouse (D’Arcy Watsham) go on, I just kind of kept going on too.

Me: Why did you decide to audition for this show?

C: I’d been auditioning for shows over the summer, and when I heard about this, I thought it was cute and decided to take a chance.

Me: What is your favorite part of the show?

C: I really like the coloring part or the floor-mopping scene.

Me: What could be changed about the show?

C: Right now, nothing. I personally think the script could have been written a bit better, because what makes the show is the props and the actors.

Me: Any tips or things you want to tell everybody at home?

C: This sounds clichéd, but if you don’t succeed, try again. Because before I auditioned for mouse, I auditioned for about five other shows and thought the first time I got into Storybook was just a fluke.

Always appreciate the crew, because without them you would be nothing.
